The Wokingham Society is affiliated to or is a member of other bodies. |
|
The Civic Trust |
The Civic Trust is the overriding body for all local civic societies. It provides publications, guidance and events for its members, plus acts as a lobby to assist in the protection of those aspects of town and village life which is desirable to keep or influence - buildings, events, the natural and residential environment and so on. |
|
The Open Spaces Society |
The Open Spaces Society - has a particular interest in saving open spaces and rights of way within communities. This includes sporting facilities, parks, recreational spaces and natural habitats which enhance the local environment. Once lost, green site are gone forever. |

The Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust
- (BBOWT) |
The Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire Wildlife Trust - (BBOWT), which used to be BBONT, is more local, but supported by local councils and other natural environment organisations. It is vested with protecting and managing sites designated as of special scientific or environmental interest and stimulating other initiatives of this nature. These may include woods, ponds, streams, copses, fields and so on. For example, it is through BBOWT that we instigated the Emm Brook survey in 2004 and from which the FOTEB (Friends of the Emm Brook) organisation has developed with the assistance of the Wokingham Society. |
