                                                    THE HARVEST
Wheat is the crop of the year here, and spring oats, where sown early, are good, but
on heavy land, and where late sown, a failure. Barley a fair crop and yield very good
but very indifferent sample. Roots are a good plant, and, if rain should come, will be a
good crop. Most farms have finished harvest, having bad seed weather. The hay crop
is light but of good quality.
