PRESENTATION OF CAPTURED NAZI ENSIGN TO WOKINGHAM
TOWN HALL WOKINGHAM
A deputation consisting of Officers and Men of H.M.S. Garth (our adopted ship)
will visit Wokingham on Friday, January 26th, 1945, arriving at Wokingham Station
at 2.30 p.m. to present a Nazi Ensign, recently captured. The presentation will take
place outside the Town Hall (weather permitting) at 3 p.m.
It is hoped that as many residents as possible will be on the route from the Station to
the Town Hall, via Broad Street to welcome the personnel of our adopted ship, and
show our appreciation of their past deeds. If anyone on the route has any flags
available which they could display, I feel it would be a nice gesture to our guests,
which, I feel sure they would appreciate.
W.C. Fullbrook,
Mayor of Wokingham.
