group—the 3 Wokingham—which took place on January 1 , has proved a great
success. This was made clear at the first annual meeting of the group, held in St.
Paul’s Schoolroom on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Mr. F.E. Bullen. In his
address, Mr. Bullen said that the financial position with regard to the building fund
had improved a great deal, there being nearly £600 collected, but the problem of
acquiring land was becoming as great as that of cash.
The recently-appointed group secretary, Mr. W. Goatley, said he hoped it would
soon be possible for negotiations to be opened for the purchase of land in Wellington
Road.
The financial statement was presented for the last time by Mr. L.C. Bennett, who is
soon leaving the district.
