The Lord Raglan – 30 Denmark Street
Up to 1901
The building began as three cottages built in the early 19th century. Thomas Searle was the
landlord from 1830, when it was a one-roomed alehouse, until his death in 1887, by which time it
was an inn with five bedrooms.
1901 to 2011
Despite its humble beginning, the building is a listed one. However the inside of the house has been
extensively altered and opened up so that today it bears little relationship to the original interior.
