The Redan – 24 Peach Street
Up to 1901
This is one of the new buildings in this area of Wokingham, which later became the Redan, and it
was originally built in 1842 as part of the development on the site of Hall's Academy, a former
private school. The inn itself was rebuilt in 1869. Richard Arnold was the licensee in 1901, but in
1903 he lost his licence and was fined 40 shillings and costs at the Brewster Sessions for permitting
drunkenness.
