There is now being added to this fine building (at the expense of Captain A.F.
Walter, Wokingham Volunteers) a new room and offices at a cost of nearly £500. The
room will be 26 feet by 40 feet and is in design and material in harmony with the
main building. It will be found very useful at County balls and other gatherings.

THE LONDON AND SOUTH-WESTERN RAILWAY
The London and South-Western Railway Company have given notice of their
intention to apply to Parliament in the ensuing session for leave to bring in a Bill
authorising the execution of a number of works on various parts of their system.
Among other improvements for which power will be asked is the stopping up and
deviation of this path over the railway near Wokingham Junction, known as Tangley
or Langborough Crossing, leading from Tangley to Langborough-lane and Gipsy-
lane, and the construction of a footbridge in lieu of the crossing.
It is also proposed to construct at Basingstoke a bridge over Bunnian-place, at a
point about a chain south of the southern end of the existing bridge bearing an
additional line or additional lines of rails.

SOUTH-WESTERN RAILWAY COMPANY
This company has just erected a wooden footbridge over the dangerous crossing at
Langborough where the unfortunate child, Lottie Martin, was killed last summer. All
the materials being in readiness and the necessary preparations made, the bridge was
securely fixed on Sunday last, the immunity from train service on that day giving the
men the necessary time to complete the work.
The South Eastern Company has at last determined to give proper accommodation
by erecting a new station, and throwing a bridge over the crossing close by, the total
cost being £15,000.
