                                             BAZAAR AT THE CONVENT
                      A sale of work etc. was held at the Convent, Easthamstead Road, on Saturday, in aid
                   of the funds of St. Martin’s Home, Sturges Road, for convalescent children from
                   London. The Rev. Mother and the Community of the Presentation made the
                   arrangements.  The  stalls  included  needlework,  beautifully  executed  by  the  Sisters;
                   grocery, handicraft, general, sweets, vegetables, stamps. Teas were arranged for in the
                   various classrooms. A concert by the pupils formed a varied and attractive feature of
                   the afternoon. Songs were sung with sweet tone, balance and feeling, and “The Old
                   Woman in the Shoe” was a delightful sketch by the “transitionals” of the school. The
                   kindergarten percussion band, with their singers, gave a good account of themselves.
                   The dances, “Ballet from Coppelia” and “Blue Danube,” were admirably performed
                   by J. Plessis. The abridged play, “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs,” was a realistic
                   and captivating performance. Father Conolly, at the close, thanked the Community for
                   their interest in the London children.
