Friday is the 3rd anniversary of the formation of the Home Guard.
Formerly, the Local defence Volunteers and later re-christened by Mr. Churchill, the

In those early days its only uniform was a khaki brassard and its arms were
shotguns, sticks and any and every kind of old weapon its members could lay hands
                   on.
Now the Home Guard, numbering over 2,000,000 trained men possess the finest

present itself in Wokingham during next week.
