At the usual meeting of the Wesleyan Mutual Improvement Association on
Wednesday evening, Mr. E.J. Taylor of Bracknell, gave an interesting lecture,

                                                    GUN ACCIDENT
Charles Henry Simmonds, a little boy of three, living in King-street, Wokingham,
was taken on Sunday to the Royal Berks Hospital suffering from a gunshot wound in
the leg. It appears that the lad was walking with his father who was carrying a loaded
gun. Quite unexpectedly the gun went off. Favourable progress is being made.

                                                       THE FAIR
On Monday and Tuesday, the annual pleasure fair was held in a meadow off the
London-road. The number of stalls, etc., seemed to be considerably above the
average. The fair was extensively patronised, and the scholars of the elementary
schools received a half-holiday on Tuesday afternoon. On Sunday an open-air service
was held in the fair ground by the workers of All Saints’ Parish. The Rev. E.W.
Moberley gave an address, and the singing was led by the All Saints’ Band.
