Advisory Panel Established
Speaking to the Mayor and Alderman Barrett after the assembly had dispersed, a
representative of this paper was told that Wokingham wanted volunteers for all
branches of national service. Ald. Barrett stated that a National Service Advisory
Panel had been set up in Wokingham, to assist people to select the work for which
they were best suited. The members of the panel are: Ald Barrett, Mr. Bird (manager
of the Employment exchange), Miss D. Finch, Colonel Palmer, Cllr. E.W. Reeves,
Mr. H. Watts and Cllr. Miss H. D. Wescott. All these will be willing to have
volunteers call on them at their homes between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. every evening
excepting Saturdays, at the A.R.P. headquarters or at the Employment Exchange.
