EXPENSIVE WEATHER
The exceptionally heavy rainstorm on Saturday afternoon, and the unsettled weather
over the whole of the holiday period, reduced the profits of the Martin’s Swimming
Pool by about £200 it was estimated this week by the pool manager, Mr. C.H.J.
Mackie. This was, for Mr. Mackie, his last Bank Holiday at the pool, where he has
been manager for the past six years, as his resignation comes into effect at the end of
this month. Mr. Mackie said he is looking forward to having a summer holiday—the
                   first in 13 years.
