Alderman  of  the  aforesaid  Town  willing  that  the  said  Anthony  Bartlett
                                   Esquire shall be & continue in the office of the Alderman of that Town

                                   from the making of these presents untill Wednesday in Easter week next
                                   ensuing & from that day till one of the head Burgesses of the aforesaid
                                   Town  have  been  appointed  &  sworn  into  that  office  according  to  the

                                   Orders & Constitutions expressed & declared in these presents if the said
               The First Capitall   Anthony  Bartlett  shall  so  long  live  Wee  have  assigned  also  named

               or Head Burgesses   appointed & made & by these presents for us our heirs & successors do
                                   assign  name  appoint  &  make  our  beloved  William  Mardin  Gent  John
                                   Whitlock  Gent  Jo.  Dawson  Gent  James  Andrews  Gent  Thomas  Pearson

                                   Gent  William  Irish  Gent  &  William  Barrett  Gent  Inhabitants  of  the
                                   aforesaid Town to be the first & modern head Burgesses of the aforesaid

               The First           Town to be continued in the same Offices during their natural lives unless
               Secondary           in  the  meantime  [they]  shall  be  removed  from  those  Offices  for  ill
               Burgesses           Government or carrying themselves amiss in that behalf  Wee have also

                                   assigned named appointed & made & by these presents for us our heirs &
               The time of their   successors do appoint assign name & make our beloved Nicholas Ayliffe
               continuance in      Gyles  Green  John  Planner  the  younger  Richard  Taylor  Richard  Planner

               their Offices       Richard Ayliffe John Cock otherwise Finge Thomas Planner Hugh Butler
                                   Thomas  Mills  John  Eldridge  &  Richard  Mylom  Inhabitants  of  the  said
                                   Town to be first & present secondary Burgesses of the Town aforesaid to

                                   continue in that Office of Secondary Burgesses during their natural  lives
                                   unless in the meantime for evil Government or for carrying themselves in

                                   that part they be removed from their offices or any one or more shall be
               The manner of       removed  according  to  the  Orders  and  Constitutions  hereafter  in  these
               chooseing the       presents expressed & declared And further Wee will & by these presents

               Alderman & by       for us our heirs & successors do grant unto the said Alderman & Burgesses
               whom                &  to  their  successors  that  the  Alderman  Head  Burgesses  &  Secondary
                                   Burgesses of the said Town for the time being or the greater part of them

                                   from time to time fore ever have & shall have power & authority yearly &
                                   every  year  upon  Wednesday  in  Easter  week  every  year  for  ever  to
                                   assemble themselves or the greater part of them in any convenient place

                                   within the aforesaid Town to be limitted & assigned by their discretion &
                                   there to continue until they or the greater part of them there at that time

                                   assembled shall choose or name one of the head Burgesses of the aforesaid
               The time of         Town for the time being to be Alderman of that Town for one year then
