said Town suburbs Libertys or precincts thereof And further Wee also by
these presents for us our heirs & successors will grant to the Alderman &
Burgesses of the said Town & their successors that they & their successors
henceforth forever may & shall have within the aforesaid Town one honest
A Town Clerk etc & discreet man to be chosen in form hereafter mentioned in the presents
who may & shall be termed the Common Clerk of the aforesaid Town
which Common Clerk may & shall have full power & authority to do all &
singular the things which belong to the Office of a Common Clerk to do or
execute And for the better executing of our grant in this behalf Wee have
assigned nominated & appointed & made & by these presents for us our
