The following were the elections:- Ruridecanal Conference representatives: Miss A.
Berendt, Miss M.I. Ellison, Mr. T.W. Hawkins, Miss M.V. Houlding, Mrs. Hyde
Parker, Mr. A.E. Jennings, Mr. E.W. Mundy, Mrs. Newberry and Mr. A.H. Newberry
and Mr. W.J. Willey. Parochial Church Council: Miss M. Berendt, Mr. R.A. Canning,
Mrs. R. Henle, Miss H. Price and Mr. E.R. Thatcher (elected for three years).
                      Captain King-Salter was re-elected auditor.
Mr. Mundy moved a resolution asking that meeting to cancel a resolution of 1935
electing members of the church council for three years, one third being elected each
year. He said the members should be elected each year for one year only. This was
seconded by Mr. R. Willey and carried, 34 voting for and four against.
Mr. W. White said it grieved him to see the choir stalls empty and the fact that the
bells, one of the most beautiful peals in the district were never heard. “It is a disgrace
and I am one of those people in this room who would like to see the services
moderated so that people can come to church,” declared Mr. White. “They have been
driven away and the choir have been driven away. When the new rector comes I hope
that something will be done to get these people back again. We go to church to
                   worship God and not material.”
