and Goodchild Road, Wokingham, on Wednesday afternoon. Slight damage was

                                                    FACTORY FIRE
Three appliances from Wokingham and Reading dealt with an outbreak of fire in a
light engineering works (Harper and Hollyman, Ltd), in Peach Street, Wokingham, on
Thursday night. Passing soldiers saw flames and smoke coming from the side of the
building, and gave the alarm. Flooring, walls and a door of a first floor room were
damaged, but firemen prevented the outbreak spreading to an adjoining paint store.
The cause of the outbreak is being investigated.
