whatsoever as well spiritual as temporal of whatsoever kind nature or
specialty they be in the self same manner & form as other our large people

of this our Kingdom of England fitt persons & capable in the Law are able
& may plead & be impleaded answer & be answered defend & be
defended & to have purchase receive possess give grant & demise And that

the aforesaid Alderman & Burgesses of the aforesaid Town of Wokingham
& their Successors have for ever a Common Seale to serve for doing of

whatsoever causes & businesses of theirs & their successors & that it may
a& shall be lawfull for the said Alderman & Burgesses & their successors
at their own pleasure from time to time to break change & to renew that

Seale as it shall seem best unto them And further Wee will & by these
presents for us & our heirs & Successors grant & ordain that henceforward

for ever there be & shall be within the aforesaid Town one of the more

The number of the named Alderman of the aforesaid Town And that the like sort there be &
Capital & shall be within the said Town from time to time seven honest & discreet
secondary men Inhabitants of the said Town that shall be & shall be called Head

Burgesses Burgesses of the said Town And also there be & shall be within the said
Town from time to time twelve other honest & discreet men Inhabitants of
that Town in form also in these presents to be mentioned hereafter to be

chosen which shall & shall be called secondary Burgesses of the said
Town And also Wee will & by these presents for us our heirs & successors

The Common do grant to the said Alderman & Burgesses of the said Town & to their
Council successors And also wee do ordaine that the said Alderman Head
Burgesses & Secondary Burgesses of the said Town & their successors be

& shall be called the Common Council of the said Town & the said Head
The Burgesses Burgesses & Secondary Burgesses for the time being shall from time to
head & secondary time assist & aid the Alderman of the said Town of Wokingham for the

Alderman in all aforesaid And further wee will & by these presents for us & our heirs &
causes & matters successors do grant unto the said Alderman & Burgesses of the said Town

cerning the Town Burgesses of the aforesaid Town & their successors for the time being or

the greater part of them whereof the Alderman for the time being to be one
