Farrington Evans, Mr. Samuel Walden, the Butler Brothers (Messrs Tom, Edwin and
                   Henry), Mr. H.T. Martin, the Rev. E.E. Smith (Baptist Pastor), Major Terence Dunne,
                   Captain F. Caiger (Wokingham Fire Brigade) and many others have fallen out after
                   having served well their day and generation.
                      The  four  successful  carnivals  of  1929,  1930,  1932  and  1933,  the  Wokingham
                   Hospital  Bed  at  the  Royal  Berkshire  Hospital,  and  many  other  social  and
                   philanthropic movements will be recalled and the general and unmistakable must be
                   that the town has made progress.

                                                LABOUR EXCURSION
                      On Sunday, members of the Wokingham Labour Party joined an excursion arranged
                   by the Reading Labour Party and journeyed to Brighton by the Southern Railway.


                                        THE MAYOR OF WOKINGHAM’S LIST
                      In  connection  with  the  Mayor’s  list  towards  the  Berkshire  Fund  of  the  King
                   George’s  Jubilee  Trust,  the  following  additional  donations  have  been  received
                   :- Palmer School gift, £1 2s.; anonymous, 2s.; N.M. and F.M.., 10s.; Miss Constance
                   Sale, Rectory Road, 5s. Total to date: £203 6s. 5d.

                                    ALL SAINTS’ CHOIR AND RINGERS’ OUTING
                      On Saturday Southsea was visited. Starting from Wokingham at 8 a.m., the party
                   travelled by motor-coach, and arrived at 11 a.m. The organist, Mr. A. Yould, was in
                   charge of the party, which was accompanied by the Rector, the rev. G. Kenworthy.
                   Lunch  and  tea  were  partaken  of  at  “The  Canoe  Lake  Café.”  The  return  journey
                   commenced at 6.30 p.m.


                                       PRESENTATION TO REV. C.L. VINSON
                      The closing meeting of the session of the Wokingham Women’s Meeting was held
                   on Tuesday in the Schoolroom, Methodist Church, Rose Street. The rev. C.L. Vinson
                   gave a fine address on superstition, etc. He expressed his regret at having to leave the
                   circuit. Mrs. W.P. Tucker, the hon. sec., presented him with a set of books: “Studies in
                   Literature.  Series  I:  The  art  of  writing.  Series  II:  Adventures  in  criticism;  with
                   expressions of appreciation and regret from the members.
                      The  usual  annual  circular  tour  by  motor-coach  was  taken,  the  route  being  to
                   Bucklebury  Common,  via  Barkham,  Arborfield,  Shinfield,  etc.  The  return  journey
                   including  Reading.  Seventy  people  took  part.  On  Tuesday  the  annual  outing  to
                   Brighton will take place.

                      The Annual parochial  fete of St.  Paul’s,  Wokingham  (to augment the  Parish and
                   Diocesan Funds), was held on Wednesday at “The Elms,” Broad Street, by permission
