not willing that the said Alderman Burgesses of the aforesaid Town &
their successors or any one or more of them by reason of the premises or
any part thereof by us our heirs or successors Justices High Sheriffs
Escheators or other Bayliffes or Ministers of ours our heirs & successors
whomsoever should thence be occasioned troubled vexed grieved or in
anything molested willing & by these presents commanding & charging as
well our Treasurer Chancellor & Barons of our exchequer at Westminster
& other Justices & officers of us our heirs & successors our Attorney &
Sollicitor Generall for the time being & to every of them & all other our
Officers & ministers whatsoever & that neither themselves or any one or
more of them prosecute or continue nor shall make to be prosecuted or
continued any writt or Summons of quo warranto or any other writt writts
or process of ours whatsoever against the aforesaid Alderman & Burgesses
aforesaid or any one or more of them for any causes things matters
offences claim or usurpation or any of them due claimed ussed attempted
had or usurped before the day of the making of these presents willing also
that the Alderman & burgesses of the aforesaid Town or any of them be
not molested or hindered or compelled to answer to these or to any one or
more of them by a Justices or Justicer Officer or Minister aforesaid in or
for debt use claim or abuse of any other liberty franchisement or
jurisdiction within the aforesaid Town the limits & precincts thereof before
the day of the makeing of these presents so that express mention of the true
force meaning & certainty of the premises or of any part thereof or of other
gifts or grants by us or by any of our progenitors or predecessors to the
aforesaid Alderman Bailiffs & inhabitants of the aforesaid Town or to any
of them before this time made is not made in these presents or any statute
act ordination or provision proclamation or restraint to the contrary from
thence heretofore had sett forth made ordained or provided or any other
thing cause or matter whatsoever in anything notwithstanding In witness
whereof Wee have caused these our present Letters to be made patents
Witness ourself at Westminster the eight & twentieth day of November in
the tenth year of our reign of England France & Ireland & of Scotland the
forty sixth
